Being a Devon wedding photographer means we get to work at some beautiful locations. From the rugged setting of Dartmoor and Exmoor to the beautiful scenery of the North and South Devon coasts. The following section covers just a few of the venues that we've had the pleasure of working at.
Working as a team of two wedding photographers Steve and Katherine are based in Exeter, Devon, but also travel to photograph weddings in Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Gloucestershire and further afield.
Wedding photographer Devon - Nova's team of two.
Working together as wedding photographers in Devon for several years now, Katherine and Steve's approach is relaxed, unstaged and unobtrusive, prefering to capture the day as it unfolds rather than to stage events. This candid, reportage style of wedding photography makes for photographs that truly capture your unique day with all the fun, the emotion and the special moments. Although Exeter based wedding photographers Steve and Katherine love to travel and will happily offer their wedding photography services further afield and locations include: Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Wales, Gloucestershire and the whole of the UK and the world!
Katherine and Steve have enjoyed providing their wedding photography services at venues in Devon and further afield.
The iconic St lawrence's castle high on the hills overlooking Exeter and commonly known as Haldon Belvedere is a venue that we love! Also local to Devon based Nova Wedding Photography is The Turf Locks Hotel where this September we photographed Polly and Grant's wedding with a ceremony in St Margaret's Church Topsham then by boat to the Turf!
Just a few miles from our home in Broadclyst is Honiton venue The Deer Park Country House Hotel where we are recommended photographers and look forward to being photographing Alice and Richard's big day in April. Also close to home is The Corn Barn in Cullompton, recently renovated by owners and working farmers Yta and Ian and now a stunning Devon wedding venue where we've enjoyed very creative and laid back days of Devon wedding photography.
If you're looking for a Devon eco wedding venue then we recommend Coombe Farm at Uplowman near Tiverton, some of our favourite wedding photographs are from Mel and Carl's eco, vintage, recycled and highly creative wedding at Coombe Farm last May. We were really chuffed to be blogged by Kat of Rock N Roll bride.
Impressive North Devon wedding venues include Pickwell Manor with views over the surfing beach of Putsborough and where we enjoyed photographing Zoe and Chris's wedding in March last year and the contemporary, yet steeped in Victorian history is Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe where we are recommended suppliers and looking forward to many laid back beach weddings this summer.
We enjoyed being wedding photographers to Jackie and Sam at their very rural wedding last September at Ilsington Country House Hotel in Dartmoor which was followed by a barn dance at the bride and grooms family farm. Other popular country locations are the prestigious Bovey Castle which we can't wait to photograph again! We're looking forward to being wedding photographers at The Great Barn in Higher Ashton this December, again both close to Dartmoor. Nova Wedding photography also cover weddings in Cornwall and on a Moorland theme - Trevenna in Bodmin with its tastefully converted barns set within stunning scenery was the venue for James and Jo's wedding just recently.
An engagement shoot took place on a blustery but bright day near Salcombe, Devon at the lovely country house that is Buckland Tout Saints, followed up by a fantastic wedding day last September.
Famed for having the biggest national park in the UK, the dramatic scenery of Dartmoor make it a deservedly popular wedding location and a dream for Devon wedding photographers! We were so lucky with the weather for Eryn and Josh's November wedding on the edge of beautiful Dartmoor at The Horn Of Plenty near Tavistock, and in June we photographed Jo and Stuart's big day at Edgemoor Hotel, Bovey Tracey.
Wedding photography venues in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire
Having previously lived in Cheltenham for many years Steve and Katherine have provided wedding photography for various Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Wiltshire venues including the quintessential Cotswold wedding venue that is Temple Guiting manor.
The Barn at Berkeley has a bespoke ceremony room and a beautiful walled garden with pagoda and ornamental pond.
The Old Rectory at Cradley in Malvern very conveniently has its own church on site as does The Cheltenham College with its iconic chapel and dining hall. (Tel: 01242 265600) Other beautiful churches where we've photographed weddings include All Saints Church in Shelsley Beauchamp, Worcestershire where Kirsty and Henry were married and their reception, a marquee at Kirsty's family home.
The Lygon Arms in Broadway, yet another quintessential Cotswold venue steeped in history and the venue for the lovely Carla and Ed.
